If you were to ask people to name some funny Christmas songs, “Silent Night” isn’t a song that would usually come up. They might mention “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” or “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” or perhaps even a parody of “Jingle Bells.” (Remember “Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg”?) But Silent Night? Uh, hello, it’s NOT funny! Unless, of course, it’s sung by Jingle Cats. Then the song has a whole new flavor.

Jingle Cats for those of you who aren’t familiar, “is the publishing company for the world famous singing cats known throughout the world as the Jingle Cats. In business since 1992, Jingle Cats Music entertains the “mewsical” world with enchanting holiday songs and hilarious motion picture animations. The nine original Jingle Cats are real cats whose names are CheesePuff, Binky, Clara, Petunia, Graymer, Sprikenz, Twizzler, Cueball and Max,” accoring to their website.

This version of “Silent Night” is from their new Jingle Cats Christmas DVD. After watching this, you may never be able to hear “Silent Night” again without thinking of this silly version.
